TSS Trainer Cohort – Session 5
Register for the Trauma Sensitive Schools Trainer Cohort.
The Trauma Sensitive Schools professional learning curriculum is a composition of five modules related to trauma; how trauma manifests in the classroom; the neurobiology of trauma and resilience; effective strategies to assist students experiencing the effects of trauma; understanding secondary effects of trauma; and creating a trauma-informed school culture. By becoming a trainer of this curriculum, educators can assist their schools in ensuring all educators have an opportunity to understand trauma and how to support students and families exposed to trauma.
Objectives:
- Deliver TSS curriculum with confidence,
- Understand how to access the ND Trainers Network,
- Access trauma related resources,
- Promote the TSS curriculum.
Requirements to become a TSS trainer include:
- Participation in the Trauma Sensitive Schools professional learning series June 24-28 with completion of accompanying Notes Catcher,
- Completion of Independent Study Log, diving deep into the structure of the professional learning curriculum,
- Participation in a cohort resource review August 5th,
- Completion of a teach-back session to gain positive feedback from peers on content delivery.
Trauma Sensitive Schools was created and disseminated in partnership with Nexus-PATH, the Central Region Education Association, and the Department of Public Instruction.
