DESCRIPTION:Preventing Suicide Among American Indian and Alaska Native Service Members\, Veterans\, and their Families: Webinar Learning Series \nAmerican Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) people have a proud and exemplary tradition of military service\, consistently serving at one of the highest per-capita rates of any ethnic group in the United States. This dedication and sacrifice\, however\, have come at a significant cost. DESCRIPTION:Question\, Persuade\, Refer (QPR) gatekeeper training is an evidence-based suicide prevention strategy that occurs when a trusted adult intervenes with a child on the brink of crisis. This training will aid school staff in learning the warning signs of those in crisis\, how to offer hope to those in crisis\, and how to get help & save a life. \nObjectives: Upon completion of QPR Training\, participants will: \n\nUnderstand suicide as a national and local public health problem\, and\nIdentify warning signs\, risk factors\, and protective factors contributing to suicidal ideation.\n\nAudience: Any educator looking to learn more about how to prevent suicide. \nA minimum of 10 Participants are needed for this training to occur. If training must be cancelled due to low registration numbers\, registered Participants will be notified a week prior.
