DESCRIPTION:BHERO\, in partnership with FirstLink\, is hosting “What Happens When You Call 988?” As a result of this training\, participants will gain a basic understanding of FirstLink and the services they provide\, learn the difference between 211 and 988\, understand what callers can expect when they reach out to FirstLink\, and recognize the common reasons individuals contact the helplines. Participants will also learn how FirstLink supports callers through listening\, resource referrals\, crisis intervention\, and safety planning. SUMMARY:NDSU Extension: Question\, Persuade\, Refer Suicide Prevention
DESCRIPTION:Addressing the wellness needs of those working in agriculture or related areas will be the focus of several upcoming Question-Persuade-Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention webinars sponsored by North Dakota State University Extension. The 90-minute webinar will address concerns of high stress levels in agriculture-related jobs and the toll on mental and emotional well-being. \nThough focused on individuals working in and around agriculture\, anyone interested in the topic can register. There is no cost for the training\, which is supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. \nResearch indicates the suicide rate is significantly higher for those working in agriculture.
