SUMMARY:NDSU Extension: Question\, Persuade\, Refer Suicide Prevention
DESCRIPTION:Addressing the wellness needs of those working in agriculture or related areas will be the focus of several upcoming Question-Persuade-Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention webinars sponsored by North Dakota State University Extension. The 90-minute webinar will address concerns of high stress levels in agriculture-related jobs and the toll on mental and emotional well-being. \nThough focused on individuals working in and around agriculture\, anyone interested in the topic can register. There is no cost for the training\, which is supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. \nResearch indicates the suicide rate is significantly higher for those working in agriculture. DESCRIPTION:Question\, Persuade\, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper Training is an evidence-based suicide prevention strategy that occurs when a trusted adult intervenes with a child on the brink of crisis. This training will aid school staff in learning the warning signs of those in crisis\, how to offer hope to those in crisis\, and how to get help & save a life. QPR is rated ‘E’ – for EVERYONE: teachers\, paraprofessionals\, parents\, families\, coaches\, any leader who spends time with youth should have this information! \nB-HERO will offer this training FOUR times throughout the 2026-2027 School Year – October 13th\, December 8th\, February 9th\, and April 6th.
